Having just read 5 pages of threads i've become more confused due to varying best practices!,heres what i want,i have a 5m2 floor area upstairs to put in a level access shower using a showertray using homelux floor membrane acting as a decoupling agent(already purchaced on the cheap) and 100w/m2 ufh, then possibly 30x45x10/12mm trav tiles.
I intended to replace the t&g with 24mm wsb ply(to keep level down), addy the membrane to the ply, stick the ufh to the homelux membrane then tile over it?.
Now i;ve seen people advised to use an inslating board!,would i be better using 18mm ply and a 6mm insulation board?,how would that be fixed to the ply?,how would the homelux membrane be fixed to the ins.board?.
Now it seems most people would advise floating slc over the ufh mat, rather than tiling straight over it?.
Also heard conflicting views as to wether ufh mats can be laid directly on the wsb ply!was thinking of Devimat which has an adhesive backing.
Opinions of you experts very much welcomed thanks.

Firstly, Devi are good but if you want a good system at a good price and to top it all off great service then give Uheat a call.

I would go with 18mm ply and if you have the room 10mm insulation over the top. It would be fixed with Flexi tile adhesive and i would also suggest to mechanically fix the board for extra security.

yes you can lay ufh direct onto ply but only advised 100w/m2 which will only give you floor warming rather than floor heating. If you want heating you will need a min of 160w/m2.

using a slc over the cable is more of a precautionary measure as you will minimise the chance of damaging the cable also does help to ensure a good coverage of adhesive on back of tiles and therefore giving the best conduction of heat through the floor.

Hope this helps and i am sure Uheat will be on to give their advice soon
