what adhesive is best

hey guys im tiling a bathroom at a sports club soon and want to know what is the best adhesive to use when tiling straight onto the existing tiles.

Wainy, it would be a much better chance of a really good bond between tile and sub straight if you were to remove the existing tiles, this is what a professional would be looking to do, but if you can't do this then most leading adhesive manufactures ,will have a product that is capable in there view of being used in this situation ,so ask at your local tile shop when you want to buy it

Hi - as above really, but if you do have to go over the exhisting tiles - I would never use anything other than BAL White Star.

I used it on a hotel contract I got about 2 years ago, very good adhesion to the old tiles - and believe it or not, they even insisted that the door frames were tiled also as the standard doors were being replaced with a sliding door to the Bathroom - and they were METAL frames.

Stuck absolutley fine to that.

not the best substrate imo to tile onto, is there any chance of a full rip off , or is that a no brainer , how well are the tiles bonded to the walls

I'd be nervous about over tiling in a sports centre with all that foot traffic IMO.

its the ladies toilets so not gonna be a massive amount of traffic. its the walls im doin and i think im gonna go with the white star. is there anything i need to do to prep the existing tiles first or is it ok to put the adhesive straight onto the tiles

slurry coat(spatter dash coat) area with sbr and rapid set mix

Tiling over existing tiles is perfectly fine so long as they are fixed firmly and are not cracked.Give them a good bonding and they will stick like the proverbial to a blanket!
