dukes ........ tiles

dnt ask me why i think its duke or argyle cos that rhyms with tile lol the older guys i work with say it and its kind of rubbed off
 
Most of the terms in England aren't really used here, or certainly with any tilers I know.

English version - Belfast Version
Tile cutter - Cutting machine
Washboy - Grout bath
Trowel - Spreader
Grout Float - Squeegee
Lochboy - Hole punch
A number two - A Billy Wright
 
hammer= MC (hammer)
mallet = Timmy (mallet)
level = neville
parrot nippers = polly
20mm notch giant trowel = the plough
tile drill = spear
margin trowel = marj
van = betsy
saw = tom (sawyer)
spiked roller = Millie (spike milligan)
we name them all trouble is only me and me mate know wot we are on about.lol
