a washboy is a bucket with rollers and a grid, its to speed up the washing down prosess of floor tiling after grouting.
you fill it with water, rinse off the sponge on the rollers and then figure of eight the grout, then final washdown (i like to change the water) just water, rinse then straight lines until the grout it gone
a margin trowel is basicly a 1" trowel used for numerous things, mainly keeping the grout lines clean, stiring grout and adhesive, and anything else you can use it for, scrapping the tile remains off the cutter is a good one

Hi Harry, you more or less have it about the washboy, after you have removed excess grout with your float the washboy is used to profile and clean. As for margin trowels, they are just a smaller version of your standard various notched trowels, only smaller for hard to get to places.
