Thought it may be an idea to start a new thread to encourage new tilers, and show there is plenty of work out there. Any of you guys who have a few jobs booked in - why not do a list and where job has come from ? Honesty please - sure we are all are ? Would paint a good picture for us all. I will kick off...
Jobs confirmed where you have agreed a date, and jobs confirmed with start dates to firm up - in no particular order -
  • 2 x bathrooms 1/2 tile walls plus shower area, ceramic tiles - 20 sq m. Tanking wet areas - Through Plumber.
  • Kitchen and dining room floor - 22mm sandstone tiles - 26 sq m - Through Kitchen shop.
  • Shower area - 6 sq m, ceramic tiles, tanking - Through plumber
  • 2 x new builds, 2 bathroom floors plus walls 1/2 tile, kitchen splash & floor. Meterage tbc, ceramic tiles - For builder
  • 10 x appartments & 2 houses - ceramic tiles, basic tiling, bathrooms, en-suites & kitchens, walls & floors ( another tiler will be drafted in to help, time critical) - Builder got my name from tile shop.
  • Bathroom floor, 4 sq m, ceramic tiles - Recommendation
  • 30 sq m bathrooom, Travertine, walls & floor, tanking - For kitchen company
  • 24 sq m bathroom, porcelain, walls & floor, tanking - For plumber ( his own house )
  • 16 sq m - bathroom, walls & floor, ceramic - Through tile shop
  • 38 sq m kitchen & dining floor - natural stone - Through tile shop
  • Kitchen & bathroom - meterage tbc - Next door to where I live - collared new owner as it has just been sold - she happens to be a property developer.
  • 5 sqm kitchen splashback - Through plasterer
  • 12 sq m en-suite, and 28 sq m bathroom, walls & floors, ceramic, tanking - Through tile shop
  • 5 x flats ( 2 already completed ) , bathrooms and kitchens, walls & floors, porcelain - For property developer

Sure some of you guys will be busier than me, but at least this may give the other guys that there is plenty of work out there :)

Cheers pal - again I will stress - keep making those phone calls and calling in to see people. You may get many knock backs, but the few that are willing to give you a try may be the icing on the cake and lead to other things.
You need balls of steel if you know what I mean ? I called at one kitchen company 3 times over a 2 year period - eventually they are passing me work - guess they got sick of me and gave me the work to stop me pestering them ! :)
