I went to install a wash basin today which resulted in me having to drill new screw holes into the tiles. I went through 3 diamond drill bits (365 drills) which didn't go through the tile. Nor would a masonry drill bit.

In the end I had to use the existing holes and do some trickery to make it work.

What kind of tiles would result in not being able to get through with diamond drill bits? And what is the remedy?

I was doing a hotel job last week with some rock hard porcelain tile. ....plumber had the same problem drilling the tiles ......he ended up buying some drill bits from ats and after giving alan a call and getting some advice on drilling them he had no problems....and he had to drill over 20 hole's per bathroom. ..

Rubi dry bits with M14 thread. Fit straight to grinder, much lower profile when drilling and easier to control than a drill. They breeze thro full bodied porc's. I use a flex grinder/polisher, so it's a much slower speed than a regular grinder. Haven't used regular grinder for years now, they're much to aggressive for fine finish cuts.
