What TrowelSize?

Hello all
I am about to lay 600 x 300 x 10mm porcelain tiles to a good level old concrete floor. I have read different opinions for which trowel sizer to use.
I was going to use a 10mm x 10mm notched.... and back butter the tiles. Will this be ok?

That's exactly how I'd do it. Round notch or square, doesn't really matter so long as you get the full bed and 100% contact.

Lift a tile occasionally to see how much bed your getting, if your not getting enough coverage use a larger notch.

I would use a 12 x 12 mm trowel and backskim tiles. Its all in the prep though.... hope its really flat!

10x10 also. If the floor is as flat as you say. Quality of the tile and "flatness" of the tile would detrermine if it was square or rounded thick bed for me.

What is the favoured notched trowel size for ordinary ceramics on walls and floors using Mapei Pro Flexible?

Are all trowels pretty much the same or are some makes better than others?

I usually use 10mm on floors and 6/8mm on walls depending on how flat the walls are and, the size of the tile.

What is an ordinary ceramic? If 6 x 6 then I'd use a 6mm trowel

depends on your flatness of floor wall also.pro flex isnt an adhesive that can be bedded out imo
