doing a 29m suspened floor next week, going to board it out with 9mm ply, then lay 600x600 porcelaine tiles. a 3mm grout lie, and a 10mm round notch trowel. there does not seem to be much movement when you jump up and down on it, and was wondering if i could use a spf adhesive without causing myself any problems later on.:huh2: very grateful for any advice.(my first floor over 10m)

It may be seem solid Phil, 15mm ply is the recommendation for ply overlay with SPF.........Gaz

Big floor to check for deflection. have you done the glass of water test?

If you are sure it is solid, check out Ardex-flex 7001, designed for this type of job I have used it on chipboard after consulting with Ardex, albeit on a much smaller floor (7m2).

I think it is really good stuff. Don't leave it to set hard on your bucket, it is a pain to get off!

cheers for the quick response guys, wickes an b&q only do 18mm or 12mm ply, 18mm will increase my estimate by £150. not look forward to telling me customer that. and i'v never come across ardex adhesive in the macclesfield area, whats the cost, and would that be ok on the 9mm ply?
