Background...

I've just tiled my bathroom floor with 10mm thick 300mm x 300mm porcelain tiles. I have used 3mm spacers. The tiles were laid on plywood using keraquick mixed with latex plus.

My question....

Please recommend a grout for my job. I just want a white finish. I think the grout needs to be flexible as the adhesive I used was flexible.

Ideally the grout would be something I could get from screwfix.

Thanks.

Mapei Ultracolour plus are all 1 part flexible grouts so this will solve your problem, if you have any of the latex left I would mix it with the grout.
As said before mix small amounts at a time and wipe off after about 15min, I find using this grout is very easy as when you get the consistency right it's as good as gold.
Not sure if you can get it at Screwfix though.

Jumping in with a question

We have the mapei ultracolour grout and are also inexperienced in all of this - you mentioned mixing up small amounts, but the guy in the shop said I should mix the whole bag (5kg) at once to ensure even colour distribution. If I gave the bag a good shake could I mix up half of it in one go?

Yes that would be fine.

Thanks everyone for your input.

Fortunately for me Screwfix do stock the Mapei Ultracolour plus grout in lots of different colours.

The last post was interesting regarding using white grout on a floor. I did not even give it a thought but I can see the point here. My tiles are a very light vanilla colour. Not I had thought about going with black or grey grout but I may have to make my own dinner if I go down this road as the missus is not keen! So, I suppose the question is... what do I do to ensure the Mapei grout stays white (any sealers etc). Note that I pre-sealed the porcelain tiles with Lithofin Fz impregnator before they were laid. Maybe put some more of this down to cover the grout as well?
