Which Mapei adhesive ? should I use

Hi all great forum really informative

Having read all the great posts on here it is apparent that Mapei adhesives are the most used and recommended but which one should I use for my kitchen and floor ?
Keraquick or Mapeker. As they are both rapid set flexible ?

The floors have underfloor heating and have been screeded and a levelling compound applied so they are smooth and flat. Am I also right to use a half moon 10mm notched trowel and back butter the tiles ?
in which case how much adhesive will I need for 30sq m

Hi, you will need a bag of adhesive for 2-3 sq.m of tiles. keraquick is ok. And i allways back butter tiles

I would use keraquick too, 7 bags i would use approx.

If you have not tiled before I would say use a slow set.Has the ufh been commisioned?Is the screed dry?What tiles are you using? Welcome to TF.

keraquick for me, and as Joe (Hillhead) seven bags should see you right, a 10mm radius solid bed trowel will be fine, and yes, back skim the tiles with the flat blade of your trowel (rather than back butter with the notched edge)

Thanks guy's I have tiled several large floors before and have always used rapid set but I have not previously tiled over UFH so what's the difference between Keraquick and Mapeker as they both appear to be rapid set and flexible ?

I have used unibond and wickes adhesive before but as this is in my brand new house I want to make a pucker job of it

According to Mapei's Technical sheets, you have a longer working time with Keraquick (50% longer) and it has 33% greater tensile adhesion after 28 days.

Mapeker will be fine IMHO...
