I am new to tiling but what reason would you use an inferior product in one area and a superior cement base adhesive in another :oops:
I will be using homelux waterproof matting in the shower area which requires a flexible powdered adhesive. The 'inferior' product is all that is required to fix the tiles properly in other areas which will not be subject to prolonged wetting.
If you saw what I've just taken off the walls, you would be amazed at what holds. 8mm large format tiles on tubbed adhesive over original pilkington 5mm 'cream crackers' tiles. Floor was on 6mm ply on floorboards, not a failure or crack anywhere..........
