Bloody Kim & Aggie,
I had a grout cleaning job this week. White grout on white porcelain floor tiles. They had only been laid last year but the grout was really quite grey. The bathroom had hardly been used. I had been given some ‘magic crystals’ by a tile shop owner. I mixed them with water and applied them to the grout. After brushing the liquid in and leaving for a few minutes I wiped off the stuff with clean water. No difference to the grout. Still grey. I then tried my Fila grout cleaner, then tile & stone cleaner. Still grey grout. I then remembered that Kim & Aggie (How clean is your home fame) always use beach to clean dirty grout. I used the bleach and yes it did make a difference. I washed it off with clean water twice. Then sealed the grout. I may have a big job soon to clean about 60mts of travertine floor tiles so started searching the forum for ideas. Yes, I know no vinegar or bleach! However, back to the white grout and bleach. I used Sainsbury’s 79p (not thick) bleach. Do you think the grout could turn yellow/orange in time. Do you think I may have to return to the house with a bottle of Aquamix white colorant? I put this thread in the Arms because the customer is always searching for info on the net. Cheers Sean
