Busy till the middle of may up to now with another bathroom to come hopefully that quoted for today.but will be taking 2 to 4 weeks off after my opp in feb :huh2:

whitebeam Yeah i`m dreading it tho mate cant sit (or in this case lay) and do nothing for to long so if i can do light duties and get some one to help then i`m defo up for that.so it`ll be a case of see how it goes (or see how much the mrs tells me off) after a shoulder opp i had a couple of years ago, 2 weeks after the opp i was lifting full size chipboard floor boards in to the loft area at home got the 3rd or 4th board up thro hatch (arms at full stretch above my head) when all of a sudden got a sudden pain in my shoulder resulting in me dropping the board back thro loft hatch ha ha ha ha ha ha (lmao) taking hatch with it and nearly going straight thro the landing floor boards (they`ve never been right since creak like mad) the mrs at first came rushing up thinking i`d fallen thro the loft floor and then proceeded to give me a right b%%%***** but the problem is i cant sit still or take time of plus dont get paid or like to let customers down,but with this opp i`ll be a bit more carefull,well maybe lol.

Got a call today from an old builder mate, 4 kitchens, I'm happy with that.

I've got a couple of jobs booked in for the back end of Feb and March but nothing for the next couple of weeks. Using my time wisely though, getting round the tile shops, DIY stores etc to try and drum up some more work. I'm staying positive though, it'll pick up soon enough, the work is there you've just got to go and look for it.

I'm going to all the DIY shops with the work clothes on. I'll hang around the tiling area, and when I see folks looking at tiles..........BANG..........I'm in there.....so much for paying £50 a month to these merchants and those stupid card displays, I want work, simple as that.

ive been doing that aswell fred.
ive got no work on at all! and ive really been searching for it, all month, 1000 leaflet drops, emailed 80 possible clients, phoned around loads, ad every night in paper, on rated tradesmen. and nothing, **** all, zit, you get the picture

Things have changed for sure. Today we started doing a sheet vinyl job :yikes: for an old customer. She wanted a tiled floor and backsplash, now she scaled it back to sheet vinyl on the floor and the backsplash.

It's been a long time since I installed vinyl!

Been busy pretty much constantly and have work booked up till bout end of may, done couple quotes locally last night and came out with bookings for both. Dont worry guys it always picks up, wouldnt recommend hangin around shops and pestering people though, very unproffesional, doesnt do much for image!

ive just finished skimming over an artex ceiling and now in the middle tiling their bathroom and they also want me to skim over all of their ceilings as its all riddled with artex :smash:
and a friend of the customer has asked me to come do some plastering round her house also.

possibly got a wetroom to do which will involve knocking through into the old "airing cupboard" etc so things are looking up personally :hurray:

i quoted to do 90m2 today in a new house. 3rd quote of the month and hopefully i'll get it as i havnt got any jobs on this year yet. im going in at nearly 3k as its got timber floors etc. fingers crossed

Picked up 2 more jobs today doing the 'rounds' in diy centres. watch them look at the tiles, in my work gear, say hello and tell them Im a tiler, I gave them my card, start the 1st job tomorrow. Now I'm booked up solid, including weekends, for 3 weeks.

im going to give that ago its bit creepy watching them but if it gets you work im gunna give it a go although i now have 2 weeks work booked in i could do with more
