can't a bloody builder put down a level floor, is it really that hard..? new extension floor to tile and its like a ploughed field, going to have to spend tomorrow getting it level now before I can tile it, only good thing is they still owe the builder some money, so what ever it cost to fix it there knocking it off his price....got a feeling its going to cost quite a bit to fix.

this gets better and better, the customer rang the builder last night to tell him his floors $hite, he was having none of it and arranged a meeting with me this morning before I levelled it, he came round I got my long straight edge out and showed him how bad it was, his excuse was 'no mater how good a screeder you are, your never going to get a floor dead flat'.... so there you go were all just fussy buggers...still had to use 5 bags of weber flex to get it somewhere near..and he's paying for it..and my time to do it....bloody muppets !!

At least he paid to sort it, shows a bit of decency. Gets you a few extra quid as well.

On the face of it thats great but if you factor in the aggro of losing at least a day to have to sort it out and the knock on effect to a busy schedule for you, the customer, maybe other trades as well.......its a joke. He may have coughed up this time but chances are he'll do it the same again...and again...and again unless he gets caught out repeatedly.

Some builders do have try it on! buggars

i did a floor with 600x600 porcelain using 6mm trowell few months ago it was so good.

Yeah, just done the same this week. Mind I had just taken up and re-laid the warm floor and no more ply'd it myself.....got a 60m screeded one to do next week and it has what is known to the golfing fraternity as divots. Needs a bit of TLC with SLC.
