Customer has 600 x 600 porcelain tile going into a floor that is 14 mt by 6 mt, the subtrates are wood ply 18mm butting upto concrete,

How would you prepare this floor, how would you fit them? not fixed this size before,

Any help or advice would be great

What do you mean "butting up to concrete" are you going to be fixing to ply and concrete in one room ?

I would prime the ply, and you need to use a flexible floor adhesive and i always butter the back of the tile with adhesive if I'm using porcelain tiles, and use a flexible grout with these tiles.

the floor start with ply and then when the ply ends there is concrete, so the whole full is going to be tilied,

Do i have to put a exspantion joint in?

Cheers

G

YES!!..you will have to put a movement joint exactly at this point.....either use a pre-formed joint or use a Silicon joint......also you might have to self level the concrete side to bring it back up to the ply level.......
