Would you remove or tile over?

Hi i may be tiling my kitchen it currently has Karn dean fitted. solid concrete floor with self leveller and then the karn deen. do you see any reason to take this up or can i just tile over with some flexi addy?

Definitely remove, it'll only take half hour to get that lot up.

Its not the time thats the problem...why take it up if there is no need?...most of the self leveller will probs come up and need reparing....whats wrong with tiling over using flexi addy?

My mate tiled over his and the tiles came loose.do it once do it right

Hmm thats what im worried about..for what reason did they come lose? I cant see there being that much movement on a solid concrete base and if i use flexi addy too

Amtico/Karndean is only put down onto contact adhesive, I'm not saying it won't be ok, just don't think it's worth the risk.

have you tried taking it up.? for all you know it could come up easy, better to be save than sorry, you cant stick tiles to an unstable substrate..

Use a hot air gun to soften glue, will come up much easier!
