Would you use membrane if...

... The wet room Walls were marmox, the Tray was a showerstone and th surrounding floor was also marmox.I was thinking of just taping all the joints and painting over a few layers of mapegum.That should be fine shouldn't it!?

No need for a membrane as the Marmox boards are waterproof anyway and as long as all the joints are taped and watertight then why add the expense and time

They don't. The marmox on it's own, providing they've used the marmox tape and screws which don't erode over time, should be fine on it's own.

Marmox is the waterproof tile backer board with a cement(ish) layer on the back and front.

nah sorry i meant in the joints not all over (or do Marmox make there own)

Marmox do make their own self adhesive waterproof tape in 120mm width by 10m long or we have another alternative in 80mm width by 20m long rolls - narrower and slightly less 'sticky' but does the job well and at a lower price. Take a look at the link below for more details on both

as phg wet rooms,
marmox boards with the correctly applied water proof sealed joints are totally waterproof, no need for extra precautions.
the washers are plastic and the screws are stainless steel so, corrosion is not an issue either..
