Hi Mate,
sound advice from faithhealer, don't part with cash without visiting the place and having a look around, especially towards the end of the week/course.that way you will have some idea of the standard of the course.don't want to part with your cash and turn up monday morning and then find out that the course is CRAP-too late then!!

Was thinking about training at YTA ( Yorkshire Tiling Academy ) but have been told this place is run be a bunch of thugs.

Anyone know about these guys ? I´ve only seen two feedbacks on them, both good but not really enough to hand over nearly a grand for a course.

Would love to hear some of your thoughts.

This of course your opinion and not one of tilerforums.co.uk as we have no evidence of this...

Please be careful before posting like this...

Too right dave, i dont think people should personally slander a company on a live forum just because of maybe some hearsay. Still as the upper posts say, check out places before parting with your cash,

You cant go wrong with reading independant feedback, thats why we have the section on here for all to read

read through the feedback and / or go and take a look around.
I'm sure they will have no problem chatting toyou and showing you around before you part with your cash. if they do have a problem then you would be right to be suspicious.
If you are not convinced and need to look at other options i am one of many who would hight reccommend NETT but its your choice so weigh up all your options

I was just having a rare browse when I noticed we'd been mentioned for once.Imagine my delight to hear us called thugs.I do shave my head(The tradesmens haircut)and graham does look a bit sinister in a gay italian way when he doesn't have a shave. But I don't recall any of us behaving in a thuggish way.So any potential customers do not be put off by this negative unqualified comment .Many forums members have been to our place to attend an underfloor heating lecture.Consequently we trained some of those visitors after they'd looked around our humble pad. As far as their feedback goes they thoroughly enjoyed themselves (as most students do)and had a top notch
learning experience.

We are an acredited EDI and CAA centre and are not plastered all over the forums because we don't pay.Doesn't mean we are thugs, just tight yorkshireman and
NETT is nowhere near Leeds unless you have a helicopter.

You wont see feedback either because we don't pay,our students are told sorry, sounds too much like an advert.(fact)

I'd be very surprised if this gets through.

Anybody can leave genuine feedback about a course they have attended....Feedback by course providers is not classed as genuine feedback no matter which course it is.

If you have students leave feedback then fair enough but negative feedback will be allowed to stand as well if deemed genuine.

If you have issues then please contact us here>>> Contact Us .

thank you.

Time's Ran Out

Yorkhirejon - Its only because of your reply that this thread has reappeared as I didn't see it first time around. My immeadiate thoughts were 'Out of Order' thevinnyofoz and this was acknowledged by the administrator straight away. I was surprised that it got some response that didn't shoot it down and even more surprised that it hasn't been removed.
As a man of similar appearance - shaved head - and believing to be a style icon, I've never been put in the 'Mitchells of Eastenders' fame, but the Tradesman look is fine by me.
To my point - You have an opportunity to enlighten the forum members as to the content of your courses, your staff qualifications, location and catchment areas, number of students completed course etc. but instead you tend to be a bit defensive of your business and this IMO comes accross negative.

Wishing you all the best.

Timeless John.

I understand where your coming from yorkshirejon, as that was an inapropriate thing for somebody to say without first witnessing, or experiancing, it was purely based on chinese wispers. However, i feel that feedback on websites such as this, is a major and important role for people deciding which course provider they choose. No matter if they do sponsor the website or not. Somebody completing their research properly wouldnt base their decision on looking on one website. Maybe if you asked your students to leave more feedback on websites more like this, then your reputation and name would reach more potential clients, and for that matter prove you are a professional training provider.

Im suprised to see this thread pop up again, now that ive seen it I want to make something clear to all. I did not make a PERSONAL statement regarding the owners and tutors of YTA nor did I qoute from anyone with a trusted opinion of this company. I made it very clear in my first thead that I had concerns because I had been told by a tiler not to trust this company and I mentioned the reason why in my first thread.

I apolagise if this has hurt the reputation of YTA or has in anyway resulted in a negative view of them. This was not my intention whatsoever ! I simply asked all your opinons so I could make an educated decision whether I should visit them or not. Nothing more, nothing less.

I have since visited YTA and I am very happy with their setup, a little smaller than I expected but run by very nice staff and everthing and more included in the course price. My cash will soon be going their way as I now have the holidays and cash put aside for the two week tiling and the short plumbing course
