Thread 'Sam Hoffman of Tilers Community Calls Dan "a bit downs looking" in a facebook message'
Yup. Paul Smith let this out on Tilers Talk. Google Sam Hoffman Tilers Community and who ranks number 3? (under some adverts). https://tilerstalk.co.uk/bb Was about the end of November 2024 and Sam Hoffman called me "a bit downs looking" and used 2 laughing emoji's. He has still not apologised. Had loads of chances to as we were speaking at least before and since. But not anymore. He's spouted something out to Tilers Community that it was ages ago and he's sorted it out with me...
What's your everyday grinder for cutting ? I have a bosch but the cord is driving me mad it's so rigid, not sure if it's getting more rigid as time goes on! I have a variable which has a lovely supple cord, so I bought the same model but none variable from PTT and that's got a normal cord on it.
.......the thread title says it all. Can be any type of tool- power, hand etc. Mine has to be the Cordless Mixer. Mixes up a few bags of adhesive on one battery. Love it.
I have read through a load of old posts on the same subject so sorry to drag it up again but I have recently bought a dewalt https://www.screwfix.com/p/dewalt-dw088k-self-levelling-line-laser/38474 and I was surprised how wide the line is and not that fussed on the red laszer, I had expected the beam to be a more thin and precice line? I have spotted this Bosch version too with a green lazer...
Thread 'THE BEST PURCHASE OF THE YEAR'
we are almost at the end of the year, and like every year, I sit in front of the tools and decide. what was the best purchase of the year? this year, I've already decided when you want it every moment of the day. is the tool of the year. I thought I had spent too much money, for a variable speed grinder, but it is worth all the money it costs. ps, this trend expires on 31 December 2017;)
Hello Has anyone ever used or own one of these floor lasers? If so please let me know what you think...... I want to buy a floor laser but don't want to spend loads of money, I've seen some for like £400 plus. I bought a Bosch PLT 2 yesterday and returned before I had a lunch break it was shocking. Cheers
I dont know the answer to this so I'm going to ask. So you've got your manual tile cutter and a wetsaw set up so why would you need to cut free hand with a hand held grinder pumping plummes of dust around the place or on the driveway? What is the need for it?
Need to do a couple of external mitre cuts and my wet saw aint the best... so want to grind away the biscuit on ceramic tile without touching the glaze. What blade would i use for this, a normal tile diamond cutting blade or some sort of grinding blade? Any particular brand? Cheers all.
Hello all I'm in the market for a 600, 1200 and 1800 set of spirit levels. I've gone through all the cheap ones trying to save a few quid but that time has come for a proper set and the cheap ones like forged steel from screw fix don't last two minutes. Any suggestions people have or what they use would be great full. Cheers
Has anyone bought anything good recently I'm at the point where I'm struggling to satisfy my tool addiction at the moment lol
What's your platform for cutting tiles on with the grinder, I'm looking at upgrading!
Does anyone know if you can somehow use American tools in the UK? this cutter looks the nuts and half price of the Dewalt on ebay but I can't find a UK version anywhere. the one step set up is a time saver and its way more versatile than the dewalt with the sliding head etc...
Due to my recent moment of stupidity I'm in need of some new levels I've just ordered a set of stabila ones 600 1200 1800 for £80 but ill need another set who's uses what ?
I'm looking at getting a couple new blades (115mm) . Turbo type for porcs and a continous rim for soft ceramics... Tried quite a few , any new ones on the market worth buying ?
Thread 'ATS blade, Grinder,'
Alan from ATS sent me a new blade to try. I've only had the chance to try it on ceramic tiles but have to test it on natural stone & quartz to see how it cuts. On the ceramic it leaves a great cut, I've a slight bit of wobble in my grinder but I think this is the best blade I've used from ATS to date. Will report back the more it gets tested.
Couldn't wait to get hold of this, now arrived. Opened box and very disappointed. Very bulky! Near **** when seen size of box! Im now wondering why anyone who's had one and sold it, why did you sell it. One thing I wasn't expecting is the sliding tray needs a bit of a push so it slides. I was thinking it would slide back and forth easier than what this does. Is yours the same?
I worry I'm becoming a tool fiend I'm only satisfied if I'm waiting on a delivery of a new gadget I think I need help lol damn you ebay and amazon So far this month I've bought about 7 things
Thread 'Washboy Woes'
got the washboy out today for the first time in a long time to give it another go. Still not having much joy with it. Creates a lot of foaming on the tiles and on the joints! Any ideas ? I'm ringing it out a lot.
