With the new bs correct me if I'm wrong but do they stipulate what is a wet area . I believe in some countries a wet area is considered anywhere within a certain distance from say a shower head . Is this bs nice and ambiguous so we make it up as we go along .

Ive always used BS electrical IP ratings as a rough guide for tanking

Are you saying that BS is BS?

Doesn’t the new 2018 revision also say that

  • Tiling should be carried out by a skilled operative, who has been trained to a level of competence, certified by a recognised authoritative body, such as the TTA;
That’s me out of a job then

Am I right in thinking that bs standards are not legally binding but that compliance is a demonstration of best practice with the trade. Non compliance with which might not be good against you in court etc?

They are not even building regs so there is your get out of jail free card if youre in court.

Thank you. I always try my best to comply to industry standards and best practice and bs But not being someone “who has been trained to a level of competence, certified by a recognised authoritative body, such as the TTA;”

I would be some what buggered. Lol
