Wet room leak - Advice?

Tilers Forums Official Sponsors

We've had a wet room installed upstairs using the Impey wet room system (see attached). The issue seems that water is appearing between the tanking and the tiles right next to the bathroom door. The plumber has returned several times and tried applying more Silicon inside the shower screen and re-grouting the diagonal that runs to the problem area.

Is it possible that there are cracks in the grouting causing water to build up under the tiles? Surely this would flow down to the drain as the are should be sloped? Is there specific grouting that should be used?

Just wondering what we should do - get the plumber to remove the shower screen, re-grout the shower area and hope for the best?

Would putting down a shower tray over the tiles be a better idea and can this be done?

Appreciate any advice.

Looks like there could be hairline cracks on the floor, but I would have thought the water would run down to the drain unless it gets trapped by the adhesive under the tiles? What type of grout should be used in these scenarios where there might be some movement?

It looks like its getting through right in that bottom corner where the screen meets wall/ floor transition. The thing is Silicon does deteriorate with hot water and soap etc. So the lifespan is highly shortened in this scenario.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Would a good approach be to remove the shower screen and re-do the join? Do you think he should re-do all the grouting?
