This contract is a typical one regarding damage sustained from in this case drilled pipe holes, I have shown the before then during = tiles lifted, all tiles used had to have adhered mortar removed from the sides & backs of the tile prior to being refitted, this floor had been fitted very tightly.
some damage had also occurred due to the underlying screed shrinking this cause an effect called tenting or heaving , when the tiles are replaced some usually need to be trimmed to re-fit them, I have opted in this case to incrementally trim tiles within the border as trimming encaustic tiles (patterned ) within the field would look terrible.
