CLOSED NOW - Morning Thread (and General Daily Discussion - Certainly during COVID)

Working on a job about 1800 sq ft over in Richmond, TX. Doing cuts right now. Cuts will take another 2 days most likely then grout and trim. Not too much furniture so it's going smoothly. Hope everyone is doing good.

    Anybody still use Mapei??

The company I work for sells Mapei LFT for thinset. I use the rapid setting mortar as well. As well as their crack isolation membrane. They work great. The beef I have with Mapei is their grout. I've had problems with these in the past and have told customers about this and they've ordered different tile as a result. An easy way to check...

    First question on here.......

I'm personally responsible for 2 years, anything after that, the company pays is responsible. I always make sure that the floor is clean of all dust, particles, and debris before I install. If you aren't back buttering then it's important to push down and side to side to ensure the tile is...

New member from across the pond

I already learned something new. I'm guessing it's less time consuming and more perfect.

I usually build my own shower pan. Or work off of one a plumber has already built (not recommended). I've never even worked with a preformed tray. Which do you prefer?
