    Eeeek Advice appreciated please

Okay, so the floor looks sound and dry? That's good. Next step is If you can, get rid of the plasterboard behind the tray, and replace with said waterproof board (12.5 mm green plasterboard is only moisture resistant, not proof, and would require tanking, so using a standard plasterboard would...

Hi guys, Just a quick question regarding packing out the difference between the tile height and the plasterboard. I've stuck a few mirrors on before but they've always been on a solid wall rather than plastboard, and these tiles are thicker than anything ive used in the past, being 10mm...

...a waste of time & money? Okay, Hardiebacker not waterproof but its moisture resistant not like plasterboard which soaks up moisture like a sponge & after time so does the moisture resistant plasterboard. Also, I've stated on more than one occasion I trust Hardiebacker & this is a forum isn't it

Hardiebacker onto terracotta hollow tile wall

Plasterboard will be fine in wet areas, you can get 12.5mm moisture resistant plasterboard and then apply a paint on tanking liquid to make it waterproof. Remember the Hardie boards will still need to be tanked as they are only moisture resistant and not waterproof.

What to wall and floor board

Well that looks good. So i could do say 1000x1000 wide in the corners of the quadrant area. I see the tape also sticks to moisture resistant pladterboard. Should MR plasterboard be used on the rest of the room or can i get away with standard board as long as wedi is used in the shower area...

    Advice Required - Material Spec

I think "terrible practise" is a bit harsh. Just that over time, we've found more effective, fully waterproof alternatives. Taping and sealing the joints on cement board is useless really as they soak up any water and pass it through. Sure, they don't break down and tiles and stone stay...

Removing tiles from a stud wall

...walls are not skimmed plus you will need to get some pipe work in there anyway. You could cut the existing plasterboard round the top of the bath, put some new noggings in at bath level and reboard with some moisture resistant plasterboard, get some tanking on there, tape the joints and tile...

Heavy tiles onto skimmed moisture board

I'm looking for some reassurance that I can get away with tiling onto the skimmed moisture resistant plasterboard that is around my new bath. I wasn't planning on using heavy tiles when I prepared the bath surround and didn't feel the need to fully waterproof it as there is no shower spray so...

    Plasterboard /ceramics

I always prime plasterboard!! The issue was that if using a cement adhesive it can react with the calcium in the plasterboard ....the same way that cement adhesive will react with the calcium in anhydrite floor screeds or tapes that aren't alkali resistant. Also the primer will stop the...

Looking to remove tiles in Bathroom (need advice)

Even better :grinning: If its one layer of plasterboard then I would take it all off with the tiles and replace the shower / wet area with a backer board and then the rest of the plasterboard areas use moisture resistant PB. When you try to take the tiles off the plasterboard if you can find out...
