Tile leveller loose after the wedge being pushed all in on 8mm tile

Quite a difference of thickness in porcelain there. I haven't dealt with 3.5 mm porcelain, so that rules me out of this.

Tile leveller loose after the wedge being pushed all in on 8mm tile

. I've not come on here to "nick jobs" or make enemies. I've simply got bored in an evening, and only posted on here to help the people who have asked and want some advice. I don't travel out of about 20 mile radius, and never fix other rubbish tilers work without a complete rip-out and start...

Everybody just calm down. This is only tiling we are talking about. Lot's of opinions and solutions for all to think about.

Tile leveller loose after the wedge being pushed all in on 8mm tile

I'm sorry to hear that callatiler.com., but don't forget that you have said that I need more experience. I would could consider that as incredibly arrogant on your behalf. I have not insulted your capabilities as you have mine. I don't understand why, as I believe I've only given good advise on...

Tile leveller loose after the wedge being pushed all in on 8mm tile

Trust me, I always read the packaging, as it gives me a laugh. The translations are hilarious! I've never come across packaging that insists on the use of plastic levelling pegs. "Crack on". You will that.

Tile leveller loose after the wedge being pushed all in on 8mm tile

I'm sorry, but I don't agree. This is what a forum is for though eh? I think that "holding down" the middle point of a tile will create stress, and also increase the likelihood of tile fracture if it is not supported properly. I have dealt with tiles of the size you mention, and am aware of the...

Tile leveller loose after the wedge being pushed all in on 8mm tile

I just think the old methods are best, that's all. I still trust a spirit level bubble over a laser. I would back fill a banana tile before laying also.

Tile leveller loose after the wedge being pushed all in on 8mm tile

All systems, as they take away the need for extra adhesive to be used in voids, and allow weaknesses to be created, thus increasing the chances of tile failure. The old and safe method is to: 1) Make sure the surface to be tiled is sufficiently flat (+/- 4mm over 2 metres) 2) Make good the...

Builders Tiling job - is this acceptable?

Hi Bob, I'm sorry but I just reported you to admin, thinking that you would use your boots on a customer. My mistake! I get it now - steel toe caps to protect your feet against falling tiles. Sorry again!

Metro tile spacers, 4mm. Is it going to look awful?

Oh dear. Somebody should have called the A-Team. Even YouTube is better than this. In order to help though, they need to take them off, make good the plaster, and use the spirit level on every full course (first checking the worktop level). Once that is done, then grout colour can be decided.

Builders Tiling job - is this acceptable?

I'd just start again, as it would be easier to do it properly, then no need to ask for a guarantee, as there would never be a call back as it would look great and last until the next refurbishment.

    Anybody got an urgent solution

Limestone is mainly composed of Calcium Carbonate which has a pH of nearly 10 which makes it towards the high end of alkaline (14 being the maximum). Even weak acid solutions will cause a dissolving action, and even something like cola which is acidic can dissolve and stain the surface. Without...

Builders Tiling job - is this acceptable?

Nobody would normally ask for one, but in this case I think it would be smart for her to ask for one, as it looks like it will fail. That was why I said she should ask for one, and if he won't do it, then alarm bells should ring. I'd be happy giving a customer of mine a 5 year guarantee if they...

Builders Tiling job - is this acceptable?

The only problem with overboarding is that you will lose a lot of the shower tray profile edge, which will look bad. Best just to get rid of the timber and use a suitable board, either cement board, insulation board or plasterboard (with a tanking kit).

    Mosaic tiling bed depth difference

Once you've skimmed the back of the mosaics with adhesive (which are now glued to a plastic mosaic mesh backing), and let it set, you now have the ability the vary depth of the adhesive trowel you use, or build up the depth if the wall is not flat to meet the field tiles. For example, I would...

Have I got the correct adhesive for 300x600 porcelain?

I use Ultra Pro Primer, but any primer designed for use with tiles is fine. Maybe stick with Mapei products as you are using their adhesive. Mapei EcoPrim, I think it's called?
