ufh, low profile before a floating floor gets put in

Can offer two solutions for that type of height, the first would be as Julian has mentioned, a 30mm Insulation board with then a 18mm Retrofix panel on top creating a solid floor for tiling on to or even a skim of SLC first before tiling. We can also offer a 50mm XPS retrofit panel which is a...

    Tiling on Overfit board,

We haven't spoken to any manufactures about that, however the boards have been tested with Fermacell Adhesive as they are a Fermacell product.

    Tiling on Overfit board,

That's why we recommend our newer product which is a gypsum board and has no problem with tiling on, solid panel so no issues with overboarding while walking about the room. Cost's a slightly bit more, however is worth it in the long run.

    Tiling on Overfit board,

We've recommended the ply for a long time and haven't had any problems to date, we've asked numerous times about tiling directly on top of the polystyrene boards but there's two answers we receive from the manufactures and that's the foil on the top will react with adhesive or the boards...

    Tiling on Overfit board,

If the panels have a foil on the top then they wouldn't be suitable for tiling directly on top. They'd have to have a ply overboard first.

    Underfloor heating/issue with builder

If there was a break in the cable it would have been showing open circuit on the multimeter. This is a common way to find a fault with the heating element, it's a very complicated procedure especially if you don't know where the fault is.

Dural ci fh first time use

It's not the same product however it's the same kind of install method, take a look at our video. Around 1.20 in the video is the cold tail section.

heating under carpet as well as tile

Our HeatBase can be used with any floor finish, however with a carpet or engineered wood you'd need a 10mm SLC over the top of the heating cables. We can offer a foiled backed heating mat as well for carpet and wood.

    Underfloor heating/issue with builder

We'd never recommend to cover the joint in a masking tape or any tape as it can cause excessive heat in the joint. It could be that the joint was loose which has created heat and caused the cable to burn out as it isn't a secure connection. We always recommend to put our cold tails into a...

screed or self level 65 sq m

It all depends on the build up you have, do you have enough room for an insulation and then a 50mm liquid or 65mm sand cement screed? If you do a VCD17 Cable would be able to be installed, this would act as a mass stoarge heater, heating the screed to a certain temperature and then releasing...

Ditra Heat Or Variopro Systems Anybody Used?

Our HeatBase system is very simular to Variopro but has a 10w/m Cable instead of there 12w/m cable. Same install method as others systems, either directly on top of the existing sub floor or down on to a tile backerboard, cable then inserted at either two or three spaces, then tiled on. If...

    That would be fine

    Tiling On Ufh?

The boards are fine and have been tested, the pipe is also fine with being tiled on and has been tested. However, the pipe hasn't been tested with a primer. The chemicals that a primer contain could have a corrosive substance or something the pipe doesn't like.

    Tiling On Ufh?

Advice can only be given on the facts we know, we know that hasn't been tested therefore we wouldn't advise to primer on top of our retrofix boards.

    Tiling On Ufh?

The reason we can't say prime the top is we don't know how that will react with the pipe over the years of it being laid, it just hasn't been tested with the pipe. The expansion would be so tiny you wouldn't need to factor anything in.
