Mapei ultra colour plus ...how to use.

I've just used it on normal ceramics and was surprised at just how quick it firmed up once it hit the joint, within a minute or two. So I just followed the recommendations above and did small areas and gave it the first wash before moving on - then left it some more before washing off a second...

    Which lower price snap cutter?

Well in the end I decided to go with the Rubi Star 50N Plus from Screwfix, this choice was made because the tiles I'm currently using are 330mm and the Sigma only goes to 370mm, ok for this job but you can bet the next job they would have been bigger and wouldn't fit the little Sigma. I know if...

    What TrowelSize?

What is the favoured notched trowel size for ordinary ceramics on walls and floors using Mapei Pro Flexible? Are all trowels pretty much the same or are some makes better than others?

    Work Boots

Trainers for me, just find them more comfortable.

Bad walls after hacking off old tiles.

I suppose that's one option but I didn't think the pro's would do it like that - if the wall was rough what would you normally do, hack off and re-plaster or skim over whats there or dot and dab new boards?

Bad walls after hacking off old tiles.

Up to now, and before seeing the error of my ways by reading all the good advice on here - I have always just tiled straight on the mess that was left after taking off old tiles following suitable preparation. Well I ain't going to mess around like that anymore, from now on it will be suitable...

    So, where do YOU start?

Just been reading a thread about getting grout lines to meet (can't post a link yet, newbie rules) and I wondered what the general opinion is for where to start a tiling job. I fully understand the concept of setting out for nice cuts/bond etc but would like to know where the pros think is the...

    Which lower price snap cutter?

Thanks for that Charlie, any benefits of those over Sigma or Rubi? I've seen the big clinker on the screwfix site and it seems to get good reviews.

    Which lower price snap cutter?

Are the lower price cutters accurate? the low price cutters I've been using don't always cut square when you place the tile up against the stop - the wheels wander a bit too sometimes giving lovely banana cuts :mad2: Wouldn't expect this to be such a problem with a brand like Sigma or Rubi.

    Which lower price snap cutter?

Hi there, first post and been browsing for a bit before posting and mightily impressed with the wealth of experience here - especially in the 'show us your work' thread. I'm a builder and get tiling to do on some jobs, (bathrooms etc) and often use a tiler but lately have been doing more of it...
