    My own kitchen

I did think about doing that, I've seen some of his Porcel-thins on here and they look great. I really wanted to see something in the flesh though. One of my local independants can get me some from Minoli, but can only get me samples of the smaller format tiles in the same colour / style.

I've got the same problem with my en-suite shower room, I want some 1200 x 600's (the room is 1200 wide) but no one round here seems to do them. Too much choice to be able to choose - its like looking at a take away menu!!

    Water damaged plasterboard substrate

It also looks like a plastic tray and a flimsy 3 / 4mm shower door - both are prone to movement and leaks (I've ripped out dozens of them). I would think its a good opportunity to rip it all out, put a stone tray in, good quality door and tank the lot and retile. Should save the landlord money...

Stupid things clients say and do !

I did a full bathroom fit out a few weeks ago, customer was going on holiday for the duration (always nice), he wanted cushion flooring down (all included in the quote) so I popped in with samples to confirm what he wanted so I could get my guy to supply & fit, customer turns round and says "...

    Use of laser level

For tile battens I go to B&Q, buy a sheet of 18mm MDF (2.4m x 1.2m) and get them to cut it into strips of about 65mm, gives you a nice straight piece of timber to tile off

Best and Worst Tiles You've Worked With Recently

Gloss white ripple ceramics B&Q colours range 250 x 400, absolutely shocking! Odd sizes, shaped badly, got to be the worst I've seen, and I've fitted a lot of BCT's!! Set myself a target of 10 sq metres today - I only managed 6  And to top the day off the customer ran out of coffee...

    Tiling related OCD traits

Chewing spacers, grout lines must be spotless before the next course goes up..... Must run in the family tho, my youngest HAS to put my lunch in the van before i go to work - he's only 18 months old and gets very upset if i forget to let him do it!

Protilers - Tiling in crystal Palace.

Hi Lee what do you use in front of the kitchen unit legs to stop the self levelling running away? - I've got a similar issue in the bathroom I'm doing at the moment. Cheers Mart
