    Thefts from vans

With the spate of tool thefts on the up, particularly sliding side doors, I saw something on my Facebook feed that I thought may interest you guys. One joiner has fitted carpet gripper just on the inside of the top of the door, so that when the thieving scumbags wrap their hands round and give...

    How to bridge this RSJ

I have a job coming up next year and there are a couple of RSJ's that are 7.5m long and 240mm wide. The distance from the top of the joist to the top of the beam is 22mm, so the plan is to cover the floor with 25mm ply, 6mm Hardi and then tile. At the moment I'm unsure how to bridge this...

You'll make sure the walls are flat won't you......

Do you need to borrow my 2m straight edge? No mate we'll be fine. Well here's the results The 'joiners' fixed 45mm studs to the wall and inserted 50mm insulation and then the board over the top. I had to remove all the boards, get 72x 2.4m lengths of 6mm ply cut into 70mm widths to bring out...

    Anybody guess what this is?

Started a rip out today and the end of the bath had been 'panelled' and tiled to fill the offending gap. I have never seen this done before , it's a first, but I do know what it is that the tiles were fixed to. Anybody care to hazard a guess?
