Hi everyone. I have only just seen this thread so my apologies for the delay in replying. Firstly, I would just like to say that Anhyfix has been around for several years, in that time we have installed hundreds of m2 worth of tiles successfully onto anhydrite screeds, many of them installing an...

What grout for wetroom floors? discuss!

Evening Gents, Grout 3000 is softer than some grouts, mainly those that are based on a sand/cement type formulation. We have looked into this in great detail, as well as having the Grout 3000 tested as part of the EN13888 standards. The Grout 3000 is officially classed as abrasive resistant, i...

Spot on Lee - we recommend using our Ultimate S2 and have done for many years - it works perfectly well. Most companies do recommend using a 2 part latex based adhesive and again I have heard of no problems using this method.

    Polypipe Overlay Advice

One quick question. I was Always under the impression/led to believe that there is no expansion or lateral movement in the boards. That's also my understanding. I have had a couple of meetings with a company called Cellecta who produce a very similar board to the Polypipe overlay board and they...

    Polypipe Overlay Advice

You are quite right in what you are saying, why can't we tile directly to the overlay system? The simple answer is that you can, but due to the fact that we have had a varied response from Polypipe's technical department in the past, we decided to put our own system together. My understanding...

    High Temperature Tile Adhesive

Bri , they may be a British company but are there products made or even bagged in Britain? Would be great if they would say, yes or no Yes - we manufacture and bag all products ourselves here in Leyland, Lancashire. My father Paul founded the company in 1990 originally making ready mixed...

Floor prep & standard set adhesive advice for a novice please!

Give the asphalt a good/thorough clean. Prime with a slurry coat primer, if using our Primeplus, making the slurry is very straight forward and instructions are on the packaging. In regards to adhesive, of course i am going to be biased and i would recommend using our Standard Set Setaflex...

    Decoup mat

This is a good question and one that i was asked for the first time last week, can the matting be used on walls? In all honesty i don't know the definitive answer because in theory it should work but as mentioned above the concern is weight pulling on the matting. For now we would have to say...

    Concrete floor residue query

It depends on whose product you use. Our Slurry Coat is the Primeplus (SBR) primer diluted 1:1 with water and then mixed with approximately 30% by weight of adhesive or leveller to form a gritty primer / slurry. It works very well on the most difficult od surfaces.

    Concrete floor residue query

If its still soft and tacky, it is most likely to be the vinyl adhesive residue. Some of these vinyl adhesives used years ago were/are bitumen based. DPM used as a surface DPM should be Epoxy based and therefore if it was a DPM it would be hard/set. My advice, remove as much of the adhesive...

    Underfloor on insulation boards

We have a new leveller being launched very soon that will allow you to tile within 60 minutes of applying the leveller. I'll keep you all informed.

    Underfloor on insulation boards

Has anyone tried priming the subfloor and then laying the UFH element whilst the primer is still tacky? It should work - i use this method when demonstrating levellers being applied over UFH but i have never tried it over a large area.

    Sbr

It also depends on the SBR, some manufacturers may water them down before packing them, others may sell the SBR neat. Our Primeplus is an SBR, sold neat and our advice for tile on tile is to dilute primer 1:1 with water and then add approx. 30% adhesive to the primer to form a gritty primer /...
