Screed \ Under floor heating advice

Looks like a leak from the joint below. UFH should be one continuous run of pipe from the manifold and back with no joints.

    Questions about Underfloor heating

If you're going onto a screed you can use the XPS Insualtion boards. We recommend these are stuck down with a 2mm bed of adhesive. These don't need to be mechanically fixed as there's no bounce on a solid concrete floor. Mechanically fixing is only really used with Timber subfloor.

    Questions about Underfloor heating

Thanks @pdc Your best option in such a small area is to take a 160w/m2 or 200w/m2 as the cost difference between mats at the small sizes is so marginal its cost effective to future proof incase you want to remove the rad in the future. I'd also recommend either a 6 or 10mm Backerboard down...

    Plastic overlay ufh!!!!

ProFix state that either 15mm or 18mm of SLC is suitable to go on these panels. Walk time and tiling time would be what Mapei recommend for that product, just make sure the UFH isn't turned on before pouring the SLC or it's not used to help dry the SLC out

    Plastic overlay ufh!!!!

This is a ProFix system (Ultra Low Profile Underfloor Heating Panels - Floor Insulation Panels - http://www.profixpanel.co.uk/profix-panel.php) which is recommended to be used with there own SLC compound which should be supplied along with the panels. If you don't use there own SLC then they...

45° plank tile with underfloor heating

That UFH looks awesome! Very neat job! A lot of customers we sell our version to say it's just a lot easier to install then a cable on it's own or even a mat.

Wet under floor heating up cycle

We've also stated that "As the system is used for first time, the mixing valve must be set to minimum setting to let the moisture in the screed to dry out. The temperature should be increased by 2 degrees every day until the mixing valve is set at 45°C (about 5 days)." If this procedure is...

    wundafloorheating..co.uk - question

EPS boards just aren't up to the job when it comes to tiles. If your customer is looking for something that has minimum floor build up and keeps the levels low then your only option is a gypsum panel. Soild panel which is mechanically fixed to the sub floor

    Topps tile ufh and hardiebacker

If they're having a decoupling membrane in the system then I'd recommend to go with a decoupling heating option like our HeatBase, that way you could have a thicker backerboard giving a better subfloor to work with. 12mm Backerboard HeatBase Decoupling Tile

Advice on tiling onto "overlay" underfloor heating

A Flexible SLC is perfectly fine to go over our panels as well before a decoupler is applied and is also the easier method as it'll fill the unused pipe channels as well.

Advice on tiling onto "overlay" underfloor heating

Very interesting thread... The Hetta system is a popular one which many suppliers of UFH sell, however any type of EPS or XPS Polystyrene boards need a overboard before any form of tile can be applied to it. These systems are really suited for a Engineered Wood or Laminate. You can use a screed...
