    Mapei primer G skinned over

Thank you for everyone who's helped me so far. Just an update for you. I've just poured my self leveling compound. The majority of the floor has about 4mm, but as you can see there are a few high spots where obviously the level is below the minimum of 3mm recommended by mapei. Shouldn't matter...

    Mapei primer G skinned over

I've made 3 applications of the primer mixed 4:1 I haven't applied it very thick, just enough so I can see the floor is wet where I've applied it. Should I leave it there or apply more? I'm not sure how much is enough and I don't want it to skin over again.

    Mapei primer G skinned over

So I've spent over an hour sanding the floor back. Would I only need one application of the primer 4:1 or would it need multiple applications?

    Mapei primer G skinned over

Not sure if pourable. It's been down since the house was built 12 years ago. It's not heated. Ive just sanded a patch and it's a white /light grey and is rough after sanding. I'm going to sand the whole floor back today.

    Mapei primer G skinned over

Thank you both. Do you think this may be an anhydrite screed?

    Mapei primer G skinned over

Hi, I've previously posted in this forum about my first failed tiling attempt. I was able to take up the tiles easily after they'd set and someone suggested my primer may have skinned over. Since then I've taken up all the adhesive and primer and have primed again with mapei primer g 1:1 and...

Where did I go wrong? 2sqm bathroom floor

Great advice, thank you! The only reason I didn't tile from the back last time is I wasn't sure if I'd end up with a full tile at the door. 1569153552 I don't have a clue sorry. It has a smooth finish though.

Where did I go wrong? 2sqm bathroom floor

You're right, it doesn't matter how long it takes. Although I followed the instructions for the primer I think I applied too much of it. I also know I worked way too messily and ended up leaving adhesive in the grout lines and the tiles, I think this was due to the pressure of the adhesive going...

Where did I go wrong? 2sqm bathroom floor

So use the leveling compound and use flat tile leveling clips. Should I still use a 10mm u shaped trowel? And do you think this will make the job much easier? As I found myself lifting quite a few of the tiles and resetting them. One more question: Should I be concerned about being able to...

Where did I go wrong? 2sqm bathroom floor

I see, thank you for your advice. My thinking was that I had one tile that I just couldn't get level, when I removed the clips it went down just fine so I put it down to the C shape of the clips keeping the tile up. When you say leveling the floor isn't easy, do you mean the leveling compound...

Where did I go wrong? 2sqm bathroom floor

I can afford to get someone in, but this is just the start as I also want the walls tiled halfway and I have another two bathrooms to do. If the things I've listed have made the job harder for me, and I can do it differently and might succeed on my second attempt then I'd like to give it a go...

Where did I go wrong? 2sqm bathroom floor

I attempted my first tiling job a few days ago in my downstairs bathroom. It took me around 8 hours to get to this point. The day after I came back to remove all the tile leveling clip wedges. I was left with a couple that I couldn't get out, and I also had a lot of adhesive in my grout lines...
