Hi Peeps, about to rip out my bath and put a new one in with a shower. I've done a few bathrooms already but because I'm using 60x60 tiles (28.5kg per m2 Polished ) I just need some advice on what board and adhesive I can use. The tap wall is stud and the side is block. The block is currently...
Hi all, first post here - total novice in need of advice.
I’m retiling a shower room and removing the old tiles has taken the smooth plaster surface with them leaving what I assume is backing plaster. This is sound and level other than a few gouges. This wall is the opposite end to the shower so...
Please help - I am tiling my bathroom and have read I need to put Harvey backer cement boards on (round the shower) and then moisture resistance board round the rest of the bathroom - do you agree - if so where do you guys buy the water resistance board from? Or.... would you tank it?
Hello - I'm a homeowner in the process of choosing tiles for a bathroom in a newly built extension. The inner leaf walls are Thermalite 3.6N blocks with a sand and cement render inside.
What's the maximum weight of tile that backing could take? I could find lots of information on the maximum...
Hi all,
I've read through as many posts as possible on the above before posting this as I know it's annoying for folk to answer the same question again and again. I'm about to begin tiling a bathroom floor 2mx2m in size (New build house 2yrs old). Chipboard flooring. Rather than rip the...
I'm currently redoing my shower. It's a 3-walled shower enclosure and so far I've removed the old tiles and water-damaged plasterboard which was there previously (15mm British Gypsum plasterboard). It's a new build house (2006) and I'm now left with the metal studding (think it's again standard...
Hi..looking for some advice from the professionals please. Not sure if i'm posting in the right place.
I have been recently doing my bathroom and was about ready to start tiling when i came across this forum. After removing the old tiles most of the plaster skim came off, so to make the walls...
I have approx 100m2 over 3 rooms to strip back the old adhesive and fleese backing left by the detria mat.
It all has to come up as I need to meet and existing floor in one door way.
What would be the best machine to assist me in this task.
Many thanks
David
Hi All
I have a question about backer board vs moisture resistant plasterboard for a non-wet zone wall in my bathroom. The back wall of my bathroom has a window, with a wall hung toilet. I was going to tile half the wall, then have it plastered for the top half so the window returns will be...
I priced for a bathroom install in a timber house (timber cladded, timber frame, softboard/hardboard internal walls)
The customer rang me and asked if I could match another price (£1930) as my price was higher (£2135) as I had done work for him before and was happy with me.
The bathroom has...
hi all,
I've got a glass and metal mosaic border, it's fitted with white powder adhesive ( palace ) and white grout ( palace ).
I fitted it about 6 weeks ago, and it's been noticed that the glass mosaic backing is dissolving, no bleach has been used to clean them and the manufacturer has said...

Hi,
I'm just about to start refurbishing my bathroom. I've stripped the tiles off the walls, which are skimmed plaster, and now trying to decide which tile backing board to install. I've read a few reviews and can't decide which would be best - just seem to be going around in circles reading...
Hi,
Looking for some ideas about what could have caused our lovely glass tiles to look like they are either wet behind them or the backing coating is dissolving away.
At first we thought they were still drying out but as the weeks have progressed there are more and more 'patches' where it looks...

Hi folks - first post here but a long time reader, so hello! :smile5:
Now onto my question - would be very grateful if anyone could help! After long research I'm well aware the recommended way to install a shower tray is to do so after moisture-resistant board has already been fitted, and to...
Just a quick lesson you could learn from me.
I upgraded the operating software on my MacBook Pro that I use for work and a couple of days later it had crashed. Rebooted it and it couldn't find the operating software to even boot up. Long story short I had to reinstall the whole mac, turns out...

...i see CTD sell sticky sheets that you stick to the back of mosaics sheets...are these any good...i need to cut sheets into strips of 2 and ive done it once before and it was a pain...are these good to use so that when your cutting the strips you get a better cut and easier to lay ?
