Hi,
New to the forum. Have a tiler coming in to do my floor tiles but don't think he's done a lot of slate. We are happy to seal prior to (and after) fitting. We're going to be using either Lithofin MN Stain Stop or Lithofin StainStop Plus depending on how the tiles look after we've applied a...
I recently had 20mm porcelain tiles laid outside on a new patio. I did notice the tile installers did not take a great deal of care in ensuring tile adhesive and grout were thoroughly removed off the tiles.
The patio has been pressure washed but the tiles still look dirty and unattractive. I...
Hiya. DIY idiot here. We've installed some nice new tiles on our floor. We then grouted with Mapei Ultracolor Plus (Silver Grey).
There's a lot of white residue left behind after cleaning with a cement residue remover, and the grout feels a little bit chalky.
I don't know whether we're on the...
Hey There,
I'm tiling 3' by 6" ceramic tiles over DITRA in a herringbone pattern. I can only do several tiles at a time, because of time constraints. So I do a little area and place the tiles, but of course there's all the excess thin set from either spillage or just going a little too far...
Hi,
I had my house tiled almost two years ago. The tiles themselves were not the best quality, just an affordable option, but my tiler did a good job. Now almost two years later some strange shadow looking stains have started appearing all over the tiles all over the house. It started with one...

Hi folks.
Is anyone aware of a synthetic floor grout that will not absorb dirt and stain? I've tried various white products but every one gets dirty quickly spoiling the finish. I have even trailed other potential fillers with mixed results.
I'd be keen to hear your experiences. I now...
I have a standard bathtub. Most of the bathtub is plain but there’s a patch around / under the floor that had to be screened to install under the floor. What would be the best way to clean the floor for Bathtub Reglazing?
In a couple of places on our terrace these white stains have appeared. Can this be easily cleaned without damaging the non slip porcelain tiles.
The marks have the appearance of the type of calcium type build up from hard water. We have never put tap water on the terrace.
Any advice gratefully...
Hi folks,
I have a problem I'm desperately hoping someone can help with.
I laid a tumbled limestone floor in a kitchen 2 weeks ago and when I applied the LTP Mattstone sealer that the tile supplier recommended, it turned the tiles from light grey, to more of a brown colour which is exactly...
I need to tile 2nd floor bathrooms in new builds. The existing floor is vinyl over the subfloor of 22 mil TG4 Caberdec Chip Board. Can I rip up the vinyl and tile directly over the chip board, or should I lay down hardibacker or other material first. If yes, what thickness would you recommend.
Good morning Ladies and Gents
I have a patio that needs cleaning and sealing. Which would be the best sealer to use?
Is it worth cleaning with a Jet wash first and leaving for a number of dry days before sealing or is a chemical clean better. I’ve seen that ‘wet ‘n forget’ stuff but no idea if...
Just had bathroom tiled. Good job but grout on wall tiles has seaped its way into every groove of the tile...floor tiles are spotless though.

First post so be gentle, I am currently tiling my garage floor with Dotti 30 x 30cm porcelain tiles in a matt grey colour.
I have laid 6mm Jakoboard using Ultra proflex SP+ES Standard Set Flexible Adhesive and am laying the Dotti tiles using the same adhesive, the adhesive is put down on the...
Good morning,
I clean them in the bathroom. Even taking as much adhesive as I can there's still a good bit left for an every day thing. Could this block the bath? Where do you clean yours?
