Hi
I asked the Wunda technical department if I can just use a Ditra mat only and not the SLC.
They said the Decoupling membranes are fine to use, they just don't form part of their normal recommendations.
They advise that it would be best to bond the Ditra mat down with the recommended tile...
So, on the ground floor there is a wet underfloor heating system. It is using pipes that were installed into grooved ProWarm boards. On top of that is about 4cm of concrete. The current install then has floor tiles which had the adhesive directly on the concrete. For other reasons, all the floor...
Hi. Need some advice.
I've laid down polypipe plus overlay boards in my house.
My tiler says we should place a ditra mat before laying tiles.
However, polypipe say we should NOT use a ditra mat as it will prevent the tile adhesive from curing.
Dont know what to do. Any advice from tilers /...

Can I ask urgent advice please.
Main problem; Where he took tiles off the adhesive had been put on in blobs; is this right? (sometimes fixed onto flaky emulsion)
The tiles are all chipped. The tiler says it is the tiles they need specialise equipment to cut so we have to put up with chips all...
Just a general question of when/where to use Ditra-mat. For example, I believe that it would be used on a bathroom floor which was an extension and had been screened.
Would you need to use ditra mat if you was also tiling the floor outside of the bathroom eg, a hallway or kitchen?
Any further...
Hi need advice. We had the wet UFH done topped with screed. Been a month since the screed was done. Cracks have appeared at a few places. Is putting Ditra Mat absolutely essential ?? Will it affect the heat coming up from the UFH ?? Do the cracks need to be fixed ??
Thanks

Hi all, apologies if this has been asked before, but couldn't find an example for this situation.
Question is do I need to decouple with Ditra mat (or similar) or will it be fine without?
Tiles are 10mm thick porcelain.
This is in a new extension linking to existing kitchen.
The new...

Hi,
I have a 44 sq a screed floor with UFH pipes running through.
The whole area will be tiled, do I need to fit ditra mat or should I be ok tiling straight onto the screed?
I'm thinking I might need ditra mat due to potential expansion of the screed when the hot water is running through...

I have been using the isomat from trimline since PCI pulled out of uk and could not get pecilastic any more for certain jobs.
pecilastic was supposed to do the same job as ditra and both being German from recognised manufacturers I had no reason to think that one would be any better than the...

Hi
Can you help?
I have 40m2 of floor tiles to lay on wooden chipboard substrate, normally I would stick down Ditra Mat with Ardex AF200 and lay the tiles on top of the Ditra but this customer is thinking about laying UFH throughout the entire floor, is it just a case of laying the UFH over the...
