Hi,
I'm looking for some advice on the best method to level my ensuite floor. The floor is green chipboard over joists. Chipboard is screwed and glued and very secure. Stud walls over the top so no chance/appetite of taking it up to sister joists.
The floor is flat but not 100% level, if it...
Will this work?
(top to bottom)
tiling (one room), 12mm laminate (other room)
19mm T&G chipboard
self levelling compound
100mm Kingspan insulation (joints and edges sealed so self levelling does not run below insulation.
concrete slab (not level)...
Hi Does any one know of a self levelling compound, for external use that can be applied on 7 day old concrete? I know for adhesive BAL do the green screed and am looking for something to work with this.

Hi everyone,
Hope to get some help and advice please.
I have laid down 8mm of self levelling compound on a concrete floor after priming it so it was a good level to work off (I also included an 8mm expansion joint around the perimeter) (Conservatory is 15 years old and area of 14 m2).
I then...

So I used some Mapei self levelling compound in my bathroom, it looks alright to the bare eye, but when checking with a straight edge (length of laminate in this case) there are still dips in the floor. Do I need more slc, or did I do something wrong?
It's hard to tell from the pics, but the...

Hi all, needed some advice. Can you fit kitchen floor tiles on a surface made level using a latex self levelling compound.
Can you tile straight onto the latex levelled surface or would you need to do something else before laying the tiles.
I hope i have been clear and if not apologies as this...

Hi all,
Firstly I would like to say this forum has a lot of useful content, I’ve found it extremely helpful over the past few weeks as a diy tiler.
I’ve installed an electric ufh mat and put down a suitable self levelling compound. The compound is pretty much dry and I’ve noticed in some areas...

So this is my first time using SLC, it's Mapei ULTRAPLAN 3240. Once I was coming to the end of the mix I notice a sludge at the bottom, I assume because I've mixed too fast *Facepalm. I mixed half a 25kg bag. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm worried the mixed might be too wet now...
I am about to start levelling the concrete kitchen floor soon and I have a bit of a question regarding the self levelling compound I have.
It is the Ultra Level It One Self Levelling Compound
and on the packaging it says 3 to 50mm bed thickness .
Does this mean i am not able to feather the slc...

Hi all, I'm about to tile a concrete kitchen floor that needs leveling as it currently slopes and runs out by around 40 mm (from one end of room to the other). I just wanted to know whether (a) self leveling compound would do the job and if so, the maximum thickness that can be applied, and (b)...

Hi
My bathroom floor is not particularly level running out of true approximately 3mm. As most flooring covering manufacturers stress the importance of having a level floor I think that I need to use self levelling compound to achieve this. Can someone please recommend a brand to use as there are...
Hi,
I am looking to tile my fathers new kitchen. The kitchen is situated on the first floor of a detached 1900's property (split into 2 flats), with a suspended, original timber boarded floor (which we have screwed down). The area is approxrimately 4m x 2m. I am hoping to lay 330 x 330 mm x...
Hi again all!
I have searched for this on the forums and my search function seems to not be working so apologies if I am repeating an already asked question.

Has anyone seen self leveling compound fail? I've looked at a floor tiling job and the leveling compound laid 24 hrs ago is crumbling and dusty, it disintegrates when swept in places.
What is the cause of this and how can it be fixed?
