Wet Tiles, Which Tiles, What Problems - Ceramics

What are the issues with having a wet tile? If water is getting into the tile (Ceramics, ignoring faults) then it must go through the grout and I assume into the adhesive (is this right?). So is the concern the bond between the adhesive and the wall? (in Plan Tec's post some tilers mention the...

What disc for cleaning up tile edges?

Hi I’ve seen the video for the Montolit STL discs that can cut and grind but before I bite the bullet and spend £90 odd on a 4” grinder disc, I wondered if there are any other cheaper alternatives for grinding down or cleaning up tile edges (or bevelling even)? Don’t have many issues with...

More boring pictures of what I’ve been up to lately.

Crack in newly fitted travertine tile. What would cause this?

Tiling nightmare continues... These were fixed at the start of the month and in the last few days this crack has appeared. I think a crack (or two) might be appearing in the tile above too. We're not in a good place with this. I've no confidence in our tiler's ability (see previous thread)...

What do people think of this tilling ?

So I'm looking to get a bathroom fitter to do my ensuite. One of his previous customers sent a few photos of a bathroom he did for them. All were out of focus except the one below. Am I being over critical in saying the tiles don't look evenly spaced ?
