I think you could get away with PVA but i would always use an acrylic primer, all pva does is seal in the dust where as the primer acts as a bonding agent between the concrete and tile adhesive. Stick to acrylic primer.

I agree :)

Treat Anhydrite screeds differently- first laitance ( top flaky layer ) must be removed. Use a special primer ( usually )

Yes - at times, have never had any comeback.
Use flexi adhesive and latex additive instead of water .
Just to clarify this I do not mean standard 2 part flexi - most of which need the 2nd part additive to make it flexible.
I mean a 1 part flexi to which you usually add water. Instead of water I use a latex additive - in theory double the flexibility - also nearly double the cost.

No need for 2 part !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2 part is an adhesive with powder and a seperate flexi additive - a 1 part flexi is good enough - in fact more than good enough for ceramic onto 12mm plywood.
Every need for 2 part adhesive onto 12mm ply!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!every adhesive manufacture will only recommend single part(mixed with water)if onto a minimum of 15mm!!!!!!we dont have 15 mm ply in uk only 18mm.if you use 2 part (bag and bottle)then no need for any boards at all!!!!! however single part is ok onto minimum 10mm cement based backer board.OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just thought i'd use more !! than u

Well yes, mon Kapitan the days of chicken wire down first are long gone.I started professionally 22 yrs ago,and all the flexi adhesives were not available, but the polymer to make it was.I never laid onto wood or chipboard without a minimum of 9mm wbp ply,if you jumped up and down in the kitchen and all plates in cupboards rattled, then 12mm.As a retailer I do have a responsibility to quote manufacturers spec and british standard,I wouldn't always conform to these myself given my experience. But and mark my words everyone, when it goes **** up as it may do one day,and you havent done what it says on the tin don't blame the retailer or the manufacturer co's we won't want to know!!
