Hi all,
I've got my 1st job and want to double check a couple of things..
the job is a bathroom 5m2 floor and 15m2 walls, all ceramic 300 x 450 tiles.
First off the floor, I've lifted the laminate to find weyrock covered with ply but its only 4mm.. Am I right in thinking I should take the 4mm ply up and replace with 12mm or is this not neccesary?
The customer also wants a border of natural stone mosiacs on the walls, the plan is to buy the sheets of 24 and cut strips of 3 off to form the border, I've never done any mosiacs but have picked up a few tips on this forum!
I'm planning to tile the border area with cheap tiles first to get my depths right as the wall tiles are 10cm thick and mosiacs probably half that.
Setting out wise the border has to stay below the window and continue around the room, this leaves me 2 full tiles and a bit below.. the bit being about 3 inches to the floor, I think I'm going to go with this as the border is immovable and I dont want to cut the tiles directly below the border, is this the right school of thought?
And one final query, is it best to put the border in place 1st and tile up to it or visa versa?
Many thanks
