200watt matt

i always thought that 200watt!! heating was a no no fitted directly onto an 18mm plywood floor, but reading on warmups site it is ok to do.anyone got anymore info on this.is it safe to do?? what does british standards state about this...advice appreciated from the htg boffins.cheers guys

Really!!!!!!!.. no way...

100w min direct onto timber unless a insulation board is used then you can up it to 160w but deffo not 200w..

yep dave thats wat i thought im trying to advise a customer that she cant use 200watt matt on a plywood floor!! but she,s contacted warmup and they sed its fine..so i rang myself this eve spoke to some woman head of tecknical she said is conforms to british standard bla bla bla im now confused!!!!

I have a copy of BS in front of me and it states 100watts... it's in bs5385-4

Thermonet have 150 for timber and 200 for concrete!
