I'm redecorating the living room at home this week and have removed an internal window, the frame was packed with an exchange & mart from 1961! I found a Reliant Robin for sale for £265, 5 years old in immaculate condition lol! That's expensive for 50 years ago!!!!

Must be ahead of its time then or a prototype because the Robin was first manufactured in October 1973. It was more likely a Reliant Regal. :lol:

A lot of the adverts don't even have phone numbers, just addresses! The ones that do are 3/4 digits only! Quite an interesting read, a garage for £56 or £5.17 deposit and £2.14 for 24 months!

Here's the reliant, it's not a Robin, got that bit wrong, I thought all 3 wheelers were called reliant robins

im more interested in the bikes for sale, my dad had a triumph 350cc 3TA, and the velocette venom 500cc would be worth a small furtune nowadays..

in a place i was working in last year i found quite a few pages of an 1864 paper and a 1862 half penny which i put super safe and now i cant find it :mad2:

Found some Mexico World Cup 1986 Panini cards under some floorboards recently.......... with a card that I was after myself way back then :mad2:........ made me chuckle as I always remembered needing that one player! :lol:

Oldest thing I found was probably some old ration vouchers.

Found an early 50's copy of the Bristol Evening Post wrapped around my Dad's water level when I was claering his house earlier this year. He must have got it after the war as the box has the MOD broad arrows on it.

The bit that interested me was that the whole paper was only two sheets, i.e. printed both sides and folded to make 8 pages.

I love finding old papers also, I'm yet to find anything really old but I did find a paper from the 70's and the jobs page was a good laugh.

'Young lady wanted for secretary' and all that....

My mate found a national newspaper from the 1930's and it had a story about the new German chanceller and his Nazi party and how he was treating the jews, little did they know 12 years later 55 million people would be dead.
