I just quoted a 12m kitchen floor in 600x300 travertine £500 inc supply. Customer said im expensive. I think I quoted right wa do you guys think?

Too cheap, thats at least a two day job, and you're supplying everything.
The 'mates rates' thing is always awkward. I tend not to do it, as you can be sure something will go wrong or they still moan as above.
Don't worry about, some people would want a discount if it was free!!!

I just totted up quickly and all in I made it just under a grand (£500 for tiles!)

Did you include a decoup? I couldn't do it for that.

Tiles, adhesive, de-coup, grout, treatments and labour id be about 700/800 mark at best!.
