6mm Ply

In at CTD this morning & listened to a tiler asking for 6mm ply, it's only a small floor??

He was advised to use Hardie from one of the guys but he's never had a bother with 6mm & he's used it for years.

Told him & another tiler about issues with ply etc & it must be 15mm minimum but they just wouldn't listen..

I had the same sort of thing with a tiler who insisted on white star for 600x300 porcs on a wall.. :lol: .. used it for yrs and never had any bother he said..

To many "Tradesmen" set in their ways..

I've heard a few stories of peeps sticking up porcs with tubbed addy.

The thing is they know its wrong & still do it because they have never had a problem..

The truth is not all do know.. they have just done it for yrs as they say..

I don't get involved if I overhear such things. Just chuckle to myself and think it'll be more work for me in future. :lol:

Never used cement boards until about 18 months ago until they became affordable locally, and wouldn't use anything else now. No brainer since it's the same price as 6mm ply, same floor height, and fits in the Connect. :lol:

I asked them why ..?.. they said they kept getting asked for it .. i rest my case.

selling it nationwide in all stores says it all i guess, strange as well as the showrooms are good quality

I'm with Peter on this, just don't bother questioning or make any comments about what others put on the floors...ply or no ply that is the question.
