9 Years today :yikes: I can remember it like yesterday

Thoughts are with everyone who lost a loved one on this day 9 years ago

In our hearts we weep in our minds we honour

I went to the site of the WTC just 10 weeks after the tragic events and witnessed the devastation myself, very sad.

was in the states when it happened and watched it unfold on live TV almost wish i hadn't but it made me resolve to say when i see a bag unattended or always watch and never turn a blind eye to anything just in case

it was an interesting series of programs on nat geographic today

they went through the whole series of events, I knew it was bad but had forgotten how bad, one of the programs was about the politics behind it and showed a lot of footage from the uk, british inteligence prevented a similar plot to kidnap 10 planes bound for america to fly into targets. the group behind it were being protected by the taliban in afghanistan hence our boys being there to try and stop the taliban. their efforts are working and have prevented carnage

puts it all into perspective

our boys are doing a brilliant and essential job to keep us all safe

I was working on a roof in Arnside, I thought the customer was winding us up when he told us what was unfolding... I wish to hell he had been!

I can remember it being seeming so surreal and unimaginable at the time and still does to a degree. I'm sure I'm not the only one who watched tv virtually all night. It's one of these events where everyone can remember where they were when they heard.

I thought the same.. we were on our hols as stated above and i walked into the bar to get a slurp and the telly was on.. i thought it was a film as well.. then i realised it was sky news..
So so shocked was an understatement.

I refuse to regurgitate all this... the horror of it and all that, because all it does give those of terrorist mind more power. But I'm irritated at the stupid extra security and paranoia since then..... enough said...

It's a very tragic loss of life, and all for the purpose of large greedy corporations using this to exercise more control on our way of life imho, in the name of the farce that is terrorism. Rant over. Can you tell I'm in a bad mood this afternoon.
