My first year for veg growing too, I built us a 4mx2m raised veg garden last September, and I planted in May this year: - carrots, marrows, broad beans, courgettes, celery, cucumbers (burpless variety), italian chicory, tomatoes, so far I have harvested all the broad beans (fantastic eaten raw without skins), marrows some absolutely huge and still producing, courgettes also huge and one turned into a marrow it got so big, chicory has been producing salad leaves for the last two months and still doing so, cucumbers seem to be burpless because they don't exist :mad2:, celery is non-existent too :mad2:, and carrots and tomatoes are well on their way, so all in all fairly successful, and when there is some space left when the marrows/courgettes have finished (they have taken over :yikes:), I will be planting whatever the next lot of seasonal veg is. I agree, once you get the bug, it's addictive and very satisfying.:thumbsup:

Ahhhh. Dodgy, tasted nice though. Mmmmmmm.

I do need to sort the ground out down where I planted them. We planted round carrots at first but they didn't take well, so we just got a range of whatever we could get and most worked out okay.

First year planting though so we will do better next year, as they say. lol

I've moved the rest of the carrots to a large pot with a nice compost / normal soil mix. Hopefully they'll look more normal but providing they grow, they're edible IMO. :)

I love how a 'flat' has now become an 'apartment' in England these day:lol::lol:

No offence B30 Villain mate, I say it as well:thumbsup:

:D and it's the other way here now...people will refer to "their flat" in such-and-such neighborhood....and I say "What, are you British now"? It sounds right when I hear it from a European, but from someone that grew up in Pittsburgh or North Carolina or Kansas City....uh NO. :)
