Hi, this is the first forum I've joined. Carpenter by trade a lifetime ago been in manufacturing 40 years retiring to carry out major refurb at home. PV panels, external insulation, wet uf heating, mains pressure plumbing system with solar thermal, bathroom refit. Will be tiling with limstone on a new screed floor in new garden room over wet ufh using detra membrane, i think this is correct. The rest of the property is suspended timber and will have ufh porcerlain tiles to floor and walls in the bathroom and en suite.
Q. What is the best floor spec under the tiling that will compliment the ufh without compremising the tiling.
Contenders to date. chipboard, plywood. and OSB 3 smart floor. The latter is specified to be structurally sound at 15mm on 450 centres and is the thinest recomended so offers the least heat barrier for the ufh but i'm not sure regards tiling maybe ok with detra.
Tile and stone are amongst the best conductors and finishes to compliment ufh, mmm. Still got carpet and underlay to tackle, but that's another forum, maybe. If I survive this one.
Some hello
regards
