I know adhesives and grouts have the manufactures guarantee for product faliure, but really what does this cover, other than replacment materials that have failed.

Anyone ever have to use this and claim back from say Bal\Mapie or anybody ?

After all, if you get a bad batch of adhesive and loads of tiles fall off and break, and or damage baths\sinks etc, and it can be proven it's the adhesive thats at fault, can the adhesive manufactures have any come back for this, or is it tough luck, and you just get another tub of sticky free ?

In retail I have encountered instances where adhesives have been suspect....they are sent to the lab and tested for contaminants etc.In one instance Palace chemicals re-embursed a tiler for labour and his customer for inconvinience, now that is what I call service

When I worked for Topps I dealt with a few customer complaints which BAL took over. Although I don't know the outcome of them all I do know BAL did go to every complaint and did their tests and asked their questions and they got back with a report for each complaint.

So even if it's not down to the adhesive they're willing to help find the problem to get it sorted out asap.

To be honest from what I could tell, usually most of them were down to using the wrong product or applying it incorrectly, which really was down to the advice they got etc.

So yes, the guarantee's are good and they will sort out your problems if they go wrong in the guarantee life-time.

I know a rep at BAL who once had to go out with a Fein and re-grout due to simple grout discolouration when it states on the bag 'will not discolour' or something along those lines.
