Advice, losing faith in tiles..

If a tiling was suggesting just using D Mat Decoupling mat, without sanding and bonding the floor would this be correct?

The issue is that you need to adhere the decoupling mat to the screed, and you will just have the same problem as before - adhesive not bonding to the screed

So basically I need a Tiler to...

Sand exisiting floor
Acrylic Bonder/primer
Decoupling mat
Gypsom based adhesive
Leaving an expansion joint between new and existing floor

If they do that... The floor should 100% stay down

You don't need an uncoupling membrane unless there are cracks in the screed, although it wouldn't do any harm is you want extra piece of mind.

Hi all,

I know this will be hard to answer, as a few variables involved.

But what would be a reasonable quote to Sand the floor.. Its approx 40ms and basically 2 large rectangles, all furniture, fixtures and woodwork have been removed.

As mentioned previously the floor is 8 years old, so likely the top layer is baked on, so the sanding will be to scruff up.

Any £*** range you could suggest would be a massive help.
