Looking to start as a tiler but basically I dunno what course to do etc. Few questions if you dont mind answering fellas.

1. Been looking at courses like this on the link, are they any good and will I be up to standard to within the 6 weeks to be able to tile someones gaff? Also if any of you can reccomend a decent course and adivce on whether I can get any funding for it or must fund it all myself Id greatly appreciate it.

2. What would I be looking at earning if I were to do one of these courses and advertise in the local papers etc. I am from the South Wales area.

Once again, cheers in advance for the help fellas.

All depends on the person, some do it after a 4 day course, some probably don't make it after a six weeker!
Funding changes from area to area, phone your local small business centre or job centre (do they still call them that?)
What you don't want to do is go headlong into debt with course / tools / van etc, usual thing is weekends for friends and relatives until you get to the point where you think, 'I can do this!'

Hi, thanks for the advice and help guys. Its definately something I want to do, the only thing is I have no experience with this so would be looking to do a 6 week course. I have looked at the diamond training centre on this site and that looks just what I need. However, does anyone know of a similar place a little closer to me (im from the Cardiff area) so that I dont have to pay so much in accom. costs.

Also the course is quite expensive so im just wondering, after 6 weeks will I be up to scratch to a good enough standard to be able to earn from tiling as it seems a big outlay (approx £3,000) to spend.

Thanks again guys, and cheers to the moderator for the site, was stuck on where to get started till I found this cracker.

Hi there

go for it if you think you need to change, i did and really pleased that i did. i did 2 week course with Chase Tiling Academy, they were really relaxed tutors and didn't make me feel self conscious even though i had ABSOLUTELY NO experience.

I now work for myself and have been getting busier since i started in February. My next 5 weeks are now booked with jobs and my confidence is growing. it doesn't matter how stupid a question you think you have just ask most of the people doing this are great guys!

Hope that helps

Cheers and good kuck:stupid:
