Advice on a floor

I'm currently working on a floor they have had a kitchen and dining room knocked into one the wall that was knocked down has the block showing between the two floors it's at the same level with a 3 inch gap both sides of the block where the polystyrene insulation was so I was thinking about filling the gaps with concrete and ditra matting the whole floor the floor is fairly flat no underfloor heating and porcelain tiles will be used I've only used ditra a few times and always used one part flex am I sucking the right boob

Expansion joints?? Visually might not be acceptable to the customer, but Dural will match an expansion joint to your grout colour

I was thinking on an expansion joint but they want a 3 different size and I think breaking the joint will spoil the look if ditra will be ok I will use that instead the floors been down for years it's not going anywhere I just wanted piece of mind really and the floor is 16 metres

Whats the rest of the substrate?

It's concrete they knocked a wall down in two rooms to make it one and the blocks go down to the footings so they obviously poured the concrete floors last and they left a row of blocks in as it was floor level there was a three inch gap both sides of the block that I filled up with concret and was worried that it was a potential weak point
